A safe space to express yourself, use your voice, tell your story. Here’s mine:

Juno’s Sphere began a wee while ago in November 2021 in the heart of Pōneke, Aotearoa

(Wellington, New Zealand).

I’ve always been a creative person. I spent my teenage years making silly montage videos of my friends and nature, taking photos on film and digital, bad sketches, and even tried writing my own poems and stories from time to time. (I try to forget my brief stint coding shitty romance stories on the interactive app “Episode.”)

I had dabbled in clay a couple times before, but had never poured as much energy into it as I did during the 2021 covid lockdowns in New Zealand. With nothing else to occupy my time, I was finally face to face with the growing stagnancy and burn out I was feeling from working full time for the man. In classic “fuck capitalism fuck the patriarchy” fashion, I realised I wanted a lot, lot more for myself than a shitty retail job earning minimum wage.

I became really into making funky lil ashtrays and incense holders, and wanted to have a place to share what I was creating. Thus, Juno’s Sphere began.

If you were wondering where the name came from, honestly, I just like the name Juno. and I needed a word for “place” that didn’t sound as lame as “place”. I needed a word to represent what I wanted to achieve with the brand: a safe corner of the internet for me and likeminded people to enter and feel inspired to create. Sphere was a nice synonym for world, or space; it felt a lil unique, edgy, and I liked how it sounded when you said the whole name together.

I took a wee hiatus from posting for a while, life got in the way as it has a habit of doing. But in August 2023, I had the energy and drive to make Juno’s Sphere a priority again.

And I didn’t look back.

the place where it all began. aro valley, wellington.

I am so immensely grateful

for all those who have supported me and my vision. Through following the gram, giving feedback or purchasing my work, you have inspired me to keep going and evolving Juno’s Sphere into the beautiful brand and space I see so clearly in my mind. In return, I hope to have inspired you to pour energy into your passions, try something new, or simply to have put a smile on your face.

Thank you for everything, really.

Peace and love always,

Hannah Wilson.
